It is wrong to be an actor because all these actors these days that Supposably call themselves "Christian" would do anything for the money..and it wouldn't matter if they take the role of a gay person in the movie..as long as they get payed..Supposably Tom Hanks is a "Christian" he took the role of some one guy in that movie..da vinci code which is against God..so its either do what the producers say and get paid or just quit..i would quit..hope this helped
God Bless

I don't think that true Christian can be actors, because you kiss someone in a movIE your not acting like your kissing them you are actually putting your mouth on their mouth ie kissing. I think that a lot of people are selling they souls for the sake of acting, I could be an actor. you can't tell me that they don't get turned on, look at how many marriage break up in Hollywood because someone fell in love with their co star.

In other cultures the sight of a woman's hair is a turn-on. Are these women living in sin? Just because they have hair? No, it's up to the sinner whether he/she should committ to that lust, and continue thinking about it. It is not sin if the thoughts enter your head, only if they don't leave.

Shouldn't we pray about the jobs we accept? An actor's job is to pretend, if viewers don't understand that, it's the viewer's fault. I cannot tell someone s/he has sinned because I am not G-d. Someone's motives for doing something is not my concern because I told NOT TO JUDGE, which means I AM IN NO POSITION TO CONDEMN anyone.

Yes Christians can be actors!
They would choose roles that are appropriate to their convictions. God does tell us to be holy as he is holy & we should not tempt another into sin.
Technically, to answer your question, yes.

Well to me, this would depend on your personal convictions. What may be wrong for you, may not be wrong for someone else. For example, my mother-in-law doesn't wear lipstick, because she feels convicted by it....but doesn't have a problem with anyone else wearing it. It's her conviction. As well as temptation, everyone is tempted. It's up to each individual to either dwell on that temptation, or to toss it away. Best of luck to you.

Once you're saved, you can do anything the Bible doesn't say anything about as long as you yourself believe it glorifies God. (It actually says that in the Bible somewhere.) I haven't found a verse that says, "thou shalt not act," so I think you're OK on that one.
~eves
P.S. The glorification of God is antithetical, meaning absolutely everything either glorifies God or is doesn't. Nothing is both, and nothing is neither.

Christians are called to many professions. You would still have to check your heart when doing certain things. Stay in the will of God.

It means they're acting. It's what actors do. If parents don't want their kids watching that stuff then they need to act like parents and not let their kids watch it. You must be a Mormon.
