Start looking at the things you have achieved rather than the things you are still striving to achieve.
As the saying goes.. look at the glass half full rather than empty.
Positive thinking really dose help..
You start thinking positive and you will find more and more so more positive situations will come your way.
mind you the same will happen if you keep thinking negatively.
So keep a good positive attitude.

If you are indeed religious and NOT an athiest, wiccan, pagan, etc... Then:
Remember that happiness, joy and love are a part of God's energy and being.
Negativity, hate, sadness, violence, etc are a part of evil.
Try to look on the bright side of things because there truly is a silver lining to every cloud. Have faith and God will provide for you all things that you need and you will never be tested beyond your limit. Be positive because God loved you enough to think of you, so you were.
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20

In put positives. Most negative thinking is a result of the world being negative toward you. The result is low self esteme that manifests itself in either dooms day thinking and or self elevation through bringing down/dis' ing others. You may even think you have high self esteme but if you pride is centered in the unworthiness of others it is just a farce.
Psalm 139 is a good place to start getting positive input.

I would need to know how your negative thinking affects your life.
Does it keep you from trying new things, trusting people, functioning in your job, school? If you are a believer, G-d tells us to think on all things, good, beautiful, pure, think on these things. You surely cannot think about the joy of a butterfly passing in front of you, someone telling you how much you are appreciated, enjoying something or someone, and have a negative thought with the joy, can you?

I tend to think about all the bad things I've done on my life that I now know God and perhaps some angels have been watching me do. It's hard to think positive when I realize this, so if you find a way let me know.

realize that it has gotten U no-where good in your life......once U really recognize this U will give up control to know the outcome of any situation and put it in the hands of your intention (which if it is in line w/ your thoughts) you will become amazed by the possibilities that your over-controling mind would have never thought of.

Pray this prayer....
Lord,
Please bless me with
a clear dawning,
a cool morning,
a warm noonday,
a golden sunset,
a gentle twilight,
a starlit night,
and if clouds should cross my sky,
give me the faith to look for the silver lining.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Be aware of it and every time you catch yourself doing it, either mentally or verbally tell yourself to stop, that it does no good, and then put your mind on something else. Basically what I did, and led me to become more positive.
