Last year my dad died. He didn't believe in God, neither do I According to Christian belief my dad is in Hell now.

If at some point in my life I would convert, and let Jesus in my heart...would I get punished for that by never seeing my dad again?

Assuming you believe in God, you will not get punished by not getting to see your dad again, you will either see your dad from heaven, or have another greater joy in heaven that will erase any sadness from your heart. There is no possible way to be sad in heaven, it is heaven. You are not under punishment either.

Don't forget, God is God, and humans have been able to change/move the heart of God over and over. Take Job for example, he lost his entire family, his wealth and his health, and yet, he believed in God still. After all those hardships, he got rewarded and he was happier than he ever was.

I know saying that you will be happy even if your dad is not with you might seem harsh, but by choosing God, you have chosen to suffer on earth and be rewarded in heaven; therefore, not having your beloved father here with you is punishment enough.

Besides, what makes you assume that your dad is in hell? I don't recall any part of Christianity that dooms you to hell if you don't believe. You are doomed to hell if you sin.

If he believed in the afterlife and that there is a superior being, that might have been his interpretation of God. You missing your dad clearly states that he is not a bad person.

But there are some people that believe that God will deliver his children out of hell after a given amount of time, and that these books were removed from the Bible (along with most women of the Bible and a period of time in Jesus's life). This deliverance is also stated in the Quoran.

Being an ACTIVE Christian makes it easier to resist temptation, and to have God's protection on earth. It also makes it easier to not serve life (by fearing death), but to live it.

There are many 'sins' that should not be commited according to the Bible and Christianity in general, so be aware of this.

Good luck! All the best, as it'll be wise let Jesus in your heart as soon as possible. Because the end can come at any minutes, you do not want to be a minute late.

Oh, and don't worry, drinking is not a sin :). In the book of James, Ch 5 (I think somewhere after verse 12), it states that when you are happy, feel free to drink, but be merry with members of the church (i.e, be in good company, or holy company). However getting wasted might not be a good idea, as your body is the temple of God.

According to islamic teaching all unbelievers or infidels -humans who do not believe to Allah the only one God who should be worshipped and ask for help,,will go to hell.with satans. They will be burnt by a very hot fire after a resurrection day when Allah will judge humans "in a weghing day" in line with their own doings in this world..Before the resurrection day,all died people will be in a waiting room called "alam barzah".So your father now is still in alam barzah and not yet be in hell. According to hadith,if an infidels covert his/her religion to Islam all his/her sins will be forg-
iven by Allah and he/she will start without sin like a baby..Jesus in line with holy qur'an was not the son of Allah although he had no father.Allah has no son,no daughter and no parents.Jesus will not be responsible for the sins of his followers. Each person should account for his/her own sins or bad doings.

A person who becomes a true Christian will almost certainly see *ALL* of his dead loved ones resurrected to a paradise earth soon after Armageddon. Very few humans are resurrected to heaven, and no humans go to a fiery hell. Instead, the vast majority of the dead are in a state of non-existence awaiting the resurrection that begins after Armageddon.

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

i'm sorry to say it but your dad would always stay in Hell, but if you accept Jesus into your heart you would be rewarded with the biggest prize ever in Heaven but you will not be able to see your dad again. i'm very sorry it is not your falt so don't think it is your punishment. If you go to Hell you will still not be able to see your dad. you will be all alone in a firey blaze suffering the worst thing you could ever imagine.

Heaven wouldn't be Heaven if there is sorrow. God is not going to punish you by memories of those not in Heaven. It is sad now knowing ones we love might not go to Heaven, but the more reason to warn loved ones of hell.

There is no sorrow in the presence of God. It is also VERY unchristian of anyone who might try to tell you where your dad's eternal home is. Only God knows the heart of a person.

Blessed Be

. I'm a christian and you don't go to hell in till the Resurrection. You might want to be a christian to go to heaven .You will not be punished. You might want to be a christian as soon as you can because you never will know when it comes. When the resurrection comes you might just disappear when your driving. There is three things you need to repent,be baptized in Jesus Christ, receive the holy ghost(speak in tongues). You need to follow the ten commandments.Follow the 3 things I said over and over again. If you do that you will be saved and not go to hell.

There seems to be one exchange in Scriptures showing the glimpses between the two worlds. If your story is true, no one can for sure know his destination unless his dying testimony was blaspheming God. Things can take place in the heart and subconscious between man and His maker in milliseconds that we don't know about unless God reveals them to us. Your destination choice is not a punishment for your father's choices whether it is heaven or hell. In heaven there is no sadness, no tears, and no grief.
"22 . . . the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. (Luke 16:22-28)
If your dad did go there, he doesn't want you to and of that you can be sure.
