Hello my daughter is 12 years old and gets frequent migraines/headaches triggered by sunlight, exercise, and heat. When she runs her face turns extremely red and she is out of breath after 30 seconds of running.I don't know if she has asthma or not.She said one night she had extreme pressure in her left temple and she said that it felt like it "popped".She told me she has terrible pain but only for about a minute. Her face has been a tinted red ever since the incident and her face is almost always hot.Is this just asthma...or is this normal?Should I get this checked out by a doctor? She has high blood pressure but nothing that is wrong with that.

No it doesn't sound like asthma.
Asthma affects the lungs and breathing.
Asthma will make raspy sounds and wheezing sounds when it is acting up.
I am not sure exactlly what is going on but the fact that a 12yr old has high blood pressure is not good and anything in the way of headaches/migraines and flushing of the face is not good.
This can indicate that the blood pressure is not under control.
YES,your daughter needs to see a Doctor and possibly a Cardiologist who will be more likely to diagnose the symptoms you describe.

Have her checked out by a competent physician, why are you even wondering? There are meds that can block the pain of a migraine before it starts like Imitrex. I get migraines from bright flashes of light or if I sleep in a position that keeps me from breathing normally. Keep pestering your doctor (particularly if you have an HMO) until you get answers. Unless he has an "S" on his chest, he can't see what's going on in your daughter's head by just looking at her, get some tests run.

Absolutely, get it checked out ASAP! BP can change with or without any signs or symptoms, and acute problems can go unnoticed. She definately needs to be checked out. Has she ever had any problems with blood sugar? Migraines, BP, and blood sugar have a lot to do with eachother.

I agree with the first answer. Take her to a doctor as soon as they have an opening, or to an urgent childcare clinic. You are taking big risks with her health by delaying and hoping for an answer on the internet.

Yes, you should get this checked out by your doctor. :-) High blood pressure can cause these symptoms and lead to other complications, such as stroke (although she is very young). Best to get a CT scan to see what's going on.

Don't delay! She needs prompt medical care. No waiting for appointments, etc. Get her to the hospital or Urgent Care
