2. Have an English dictionary by your side.
3. Buy a notebook. Keep it small. Make sure it has alphabetical segments.
4. Start writing words u don't understand and its meaning in the notebook.
5. Repeat 1. Buy a better book.

yes, read a good book(s). And jot down all the words you do not know the meaning of, or the words you don't know how to pronounce. Look them up in dictionary and keep this list.

Also, movies are great, too. New movies come with subtitles, so easier to learn new words... And as with the book, list down all the words and look them up in dictionary.

I think if you learn by association: by associating the new words with words, situations, things you are familiar with.

You have to understand it 1st. If not...it would be hard to use it. My mother tongue isn't Eng. So, I have to try hard. Don't give up!
