entire families leaving them alone, homeless and starving. (God either created EVERYTHING or didn’t. God also created Satan and he is supposedly all knowing/all powerful and knew when he created Satan what would happen.) Then god tells us we’re born evil, sinners and are lucky to have him which is blatant psychological abuse, like an abusive husband who tells his wife that she’s worthless and lucky to have him. Then our loving father tells us that all the sexual desires he created in us are sinful and we better not even think about having sex deemed unacceptable in the bible(Jesus says thinking about it is a sin). You better keep your sinful, naughty penis in your pants! God always watches us (in your mind all the time) and if you don’t worship him (i.e.: grovel) and believe in him than you WILL burn in hell no matter how good a person you are. Overbearing? . . . And at the end of the day, Christians thank him for his “mercy”. Healthy? Is he a nice god?

Okay. Thanks for your answers. Some of them don’t make a whole lot of sense, but at least you tried.

If god didn’t create the hurricane and the “dirty” sex and evil as we know it, than who did. If god didn’t create it, then someone else did. A VERY powerful and VERY evil god of some kind. This is why saying that god didn’t create these things is illogical. I agree that god did create all the wonderful things like the cure for cancer and all the people who fly in to save hurricane victims. But he created the hurricane first.

bonobo’s answer made a little sense. I have one prob w/ it though. If I were to inject cancer into a 2 yr old child to make his family better, stronger people, am I good person or do I belong in an asylum? Just because you have the power to do something doesn’t negate the fact that it’s bad.

I can't believe in a all powerful/all good god. It's just illogical and your attempts to make it logical just make him seem more illogical.

This is the best explanation I have ever heard-
Disasters are Gods extreme device for bringing us together-and it appears to work. Consider how we all came to aid the victims of hurricane Katrina as a people even though our national leadership failed miserably. Or consider how we responded to the victims of the tsunami. Granted much more needs to be done, but one day we will recover.

You have asked too many things to be answered in a short space. You see God as causing the disaster. I see Him in the rescue efforts. Are you perfect, never said or did one thing wrong in your entire life? You are a sinner, accept it. There are laws of man and God that man must try to live by,if we are going to have quality lives and not hurt one another. Yes, God knows your every thought and He shines His light on our sin but that in turn makes us turn to Him and He is there with arms open to receive. He is a good God and Father and I praise His name.If He didn't have mercy we would all be dead after the first sin, think about it.

My Father does not send hurricanes. My Father does not make abusive husbands. My Father tells man not to listen to satan. He says that satan is a liar by his own choice. My Father did not create "dirty" sex neither does He expect me, as His child, to grovel. He tells me that He will provide everything I need and He does. My Father will do the same for you but you must take responsibility for your wrong doings. My Father did not lie to anyone and He is more than nice. He is EVERYTHING to me.
