You're sitting in a coffee shop by yourself. Suddenly, one of the employees walks up to your table and places a rather expensive drink in front of you. He says, "I apologize for disturbing you, but the gentleman sitting at the table in the corner asked to bring this to you, and wonders if you'll join him." you look over and see me. I'm nervous as Hell, but I smile kindly in an attempt to hide it. I'm 16 years old, about 5 foot 8, shortish yet shaggy blond hair, with scraggly mutton-chop sideburns. What would you say to the employee?

Serious answers only, please.

I meant relatively speaking, PointHo. Besides, the price of coffee is going through the roof, these days.

I don't even know who Patrick Stump is, Ariana.

I'm aware of that fact, Mr. Chili. I was just trying to avoid offending anyone.

Please tell him I have a boyfriend(politely)
No seriously, if I didn't have a boyfriend, I would smile, say thanks, and walk over to your table and start up a conversation. That's a cute conversation starter, especially if you look a little nervous, not...like a stalker or anything.

It's a great opener at least!

You'd have to be prepared for some girls to just say "thank you but no" but every so often you may just get one that says "Thanks, what's your name?"

It can't hurt to try, worst case scenario you'll be out the $4 for the fancy coffee right? Instead of just a fancy drink, maybe find out what the girl usually drinks and send that instead. It might be a fine line between an attentive guy who's willing to make an effort and a stalker but I guess it's all in the eyes of the beholder right?

Good luck with the Java Hunt!

i'd probably laugh at the situation and then grab the drink get up and head over. Then possibly making you feel as awkward (not in a mean way) as you have made me feel, thank you for the drink and ask why it was sent over, and then possibly sit down and figure out what kind of person you are to have had the guts to do something like that.

but thats just me.

Aww, thats like the underaged version of buying drinks! I guess it depends, if he's a perfect stranger I'd probably be freaked out but if he is someone I know, but don't talk to much I would join him unless I really didn't like him and if he was my friend looking nervous like that, of course I would join him but would be surprised that he looked so nervous.

I would thank the employee and pay him for MY coffee. I hate it when guys pay for my food. I would then give you a slight smile and turn back to the paper.

I would say, "Oh, my God, Patrick Stump bought me a drink!"
Kidding. Unless you are Patrick Stump.
I'd smile back at you, thank him, and go sit with you.

Excuse me for answering this but a correction needs to be made. Age 15 - 17 is not a lady, but rather a girl. Thank you, you may now continue with this discussion.

I would say: Exuse me, I'm not trying to be rude, but I never seen you before, and I don't feel very comfortable accepting this. No offence though.

Hope it helps.

I'd say "sure" as long as the drink wasn't alcholic and I'd join him in conversation.
