I doubt there are any figures for that. They are usually worked out by default values relating to a country's "national" religion, ie, the UK is 55m "Christians" even though this godless country has only 8m regular church attendees (there are 1m regular Muslim worshippers). China could claim to be an atheist country but that would deny the existence of many different religious groups.
Wise Guy - Same logic, no theists either. Any argument?

Hard to tell, in some countries they kill you if you are an Atheist, so the answer to any survey there would not be accurate. Even in a semi-progressive country like the U.S. there is a stigma that prevents many Atheists from admitting it, like job security.

"A 1995 survey attributed to the Encyclopædia Britannica indicates that the non-religious make up about 14.7% of the world's population, and atheists around 3.8%."

It's an unproven and unprovable hypothesis.
There are only agnostics, no atheists.
Those who say they are, are actually delusional.
