Depends. I had a parakeet live to 13 and I had one die at 2 months old. If he is well cared for, given seed as well as fruits & vegs in his diet, outside of the cage time it can live into the teens even 20! We have one that is 7 now and the rest are younger and no signs of sickness! Good luck

I raised my Parakeet Andy from a egg. His brother had a bent leg, He passed away when he was 3 months old. I think from the mother sitting on him.
Andy, now has to be at lease 10 yrs old and is looking good. He eats well and lives in a house with cats.
His favorite thing is millet. He says a couple of words. Hope he makes it to 20.

2-3 years if you are lucky. If a parakeet get any kind of draft it will usually greatly decrease this life span to just a few days. I have had 5-6 parakeets.

14 years. im assuming its a budgie. sometimes more, it probably depends on breeding and diet. they live longer in avaries.
