If you think it's the gel then lay off the gel for a while. Other ways to protect your hair:
- Use a moisturizing shampoo and a conditioner
- Massage your head GENTLY when you wash your hair
- Use warm water, not hot water, in the shower
- Towel dry your hair GENTLY
- When your hair is wet, only use a comb (not a brush!)
By the way, it's normal to lose up to 100 hairs each day!

The loss and breakage of hair is due to the stiffness of the hair gel. Your hair will break right off because it loses elasticity and can't do much else. You may be using too stiff of a hair gel... switch to a pomade instead
Also, you may need to get a nice deep condition and/or hot oil treatment (Hair loves that!)...Also, before shampoo, comb out your hair beforehand to remove tangles that can occur during shampooing and refrain from washing your hair like the people in those commericals (that will tangle and break off hair even more!)
Hope that helps!

Well, stop using gel for a little while and switch shampoo's. When you shampoo and use conditioner make sure you are being very delicate, gentle, and treat your hair like you are dusting off a 300,000,000 year old fossil of a dinosour that is cracked. Be very carefull and slow. Good luck to u and ur hair...
