Why are there some people who are on here so rude? People just want to ask a question and some people answer like they are stupid. It's just a question. A lot of the so called vet techs are especially rude. Got any credentials? Do you treat your customers so rudely when they ask questions at the vet? Geez!

I think Answers is a great place to exchange ideas about our pets (or anything). That's what I use it for- ideas. If I want real professional advise, I'm going to a professional. I agree that some people just try to up their self esteem by acting superior to others. Everybody should just get along. On here, we don't know who's really who, so any advise should be taken lightly. For example, I could say I'm an airline pilot, Voodoo doctor, or vet tech. How would you know for sure?

I don't get it either. Some questions are posted meant to be stupid questions and you can tell which ones are but it even annoys me when people talk down to others who merely ask a question. I'm sorry people are being rude to you, just ignore it. Unfortunately there are alot of people like that out there. As far as the vet tech's go, I've wondered the same thing. I've seen answers posted by some "vet techs" that make me laugh because they're so off base.

I can see you haven't been around a long time. Some of us who post here really care about cats. I can see that you are relatively new. I don't notice anyone being rude, unless it is to a troller. People have different ways of communicating, and, what might be polite conversation if you were in the same room, might read a little different. Mostly, it is a matter of trying to give a good answer without taking up a lot of space. That means type it out and forget about trying to make friends with the asker. The whole point is to answer the question and try to help the cat. As far as vet techs, well sometimes there answers are more technical, and I'm glad they post here. There is a lot of good information trading hands.

3 reasons:

1.) Some people are rude by nature or believe that if they write something funny/rude they will get more attention.

2.) Some people are upset that they have very few responses selected as best answers and try to overcompensate by saying something stupid.

3.) Some people (like me) don't like cats and believe that dogs are much better animals than cats...

Hope that helps...

I've seen some of those responses. But for every ONE rude response, there are TWO that are truly gracious. Maybe the vet tech is exasperated with some pet owners... or has recently been fired... or I don't know...

Vets are rude because they are nervous. They cant answer a lot of questions because they are afraid you wont like the answers. The other people who are stupid are stupid. If they bother you just ignore it.Some people just need to stop being rude if you ask something.

You can ignore what the tech says to you rudely. Until they say it to you politely. Because I think we pay enough to our vets to deserve a little respect. And if it’s a problem in their life they really should learn no to let it effect their work!

I think some people think they can build up their self esteem by acting superior to other people. But truly superior people treat their fellow human beings with kindness and compassion. I am sorry for those that only feel self worth by being putting someone else down.

I'm sure they are rude to the people who come into their clinic.
They have no business answering questions if the can not be compassionate.
Good Luck.
