My wonderful boyfriend has a deep and kind of dark past that I know he moved here to get away from. He's told me a lot, but recently he got a call that made him so upset that he actually cried when we were hugging and then promptly left the room like that happened accidentally. He said he'd tell me about it later, but he hasn't...
I want to know what's going on so that I'm not left out of his life, but I also don't want to pressure him to discuss something that will upset him more or make him feel like I'm prying.
Do you think it's ok to bring it up and ask if he's ready to talk about it? Or should I just ignore it?

I think you should bring it up and talk to him about it. You are part of his future and if his past is ruining his future then you should know about it and help him get through it.

you are being nosey. its not the answer you want to hear, but hey when he got upset he just cried and left the room. he didn't do anything to hurt you in any way. he handeled it great and like an adult. if you truley love him, you will just support him and be there for him when he needs you. when he is ready he will let you in more.

I'd ask, you never really know anybody. he could be running from the law, his wife, or the mob; his past is your business. wouldn't you want to know if he had aids?
