That depends on the commonality of the name, size of city and any descriptive information you may provide. A source of information is school annuals and local papers for historical information. One can perhaps run a drivers' license check for the full name. You can spend 1,000's of dollars on such a search. Try the free information you can access first. Perhaps there are family members still in the town. That is a place to start.

I guess if you have the money to spend and your desperate you can hire one, but it sounds like you have some good basics to start your own search.
It can be done, but you will need some patience and good note keeping.
