Are you sure the problem isn't just that you're a lousy poker player?
Look for twitchy whiskers, but you usually only see that when they're messed up on nip; it's pretty sloppy. Sophisticated cats will mark the cards. Look for a lot of unnecessary pushing of the face against the cards. "I'm just scratching my nose" will be the usual excuse, but, BS. Pheromone-o-rama, and you can't do much about it.
Or you couldn't until recently. I spray the cards down with something called "Feliway," which is a sort of cat-calming "analogue of feline facial pheromones." Even if they continue to mark during play, you can buy it in a diffuser and just sit back and let the chips roll in while it permeates the room.

Watch the tail - the tail always gives them away:
* Twitching: he is on high alert that you might catch his cheating
* Perfectly still: He has a high hand he got legitimately and is ready to pounce them on the table and trump you
* Swishing: He is bored with the game and with the company. He wants his food bowl.

Can your kitty come over and play with my kitties? I'd like for them to learn canasta, actually. But poker would be good.
