Most 2 year olds have a great imagination. Role play activities-such as a cafe, hospital etc. Creative-painting, cutting and sticking, walking around the nursery/garden/childminders home acting out a story or even just getting them to pretend to be flying to another country-they will make the countries up. Literacy-when reading books, try to bring in toys from the book. Numeracy-most 2 year olds are learning to count so get hold of plastic bottles, fill them with water (you can use food colouring if you want) and hey you have 10 green bottles!! Physical-under, over, through assault course tyoe thing aimed at 2 year olds There are many different activities.

My son was a raving Thomas the Tank Engine fan at that age. He was also big on DragonTales. Both carry strong social messages.

Little Einsteins are very good. It is better if you watch with your child and point out things to him. He'll get more out of it that way.
