People want answers. Curiosity's in their nature. This is why many people turn to religion, for answers to questions that they don't know how to solve. They believe in a benevolent god because the thought of being at the mercy of an uncaring, all-powerful being is unsettling. To reconcile situations that don't fit with this model, they use the 'works in mysterious ways' postulate. It's a catch-all for incomprehensible situations, so yes it stems out of ignorance.

Still would not matter who asks and says the lord works in mysterious ways, yes, God makes miracles for our own good. This, the Lord God, who made us does work in mysterious ways, but it would only be meaning for matters. Holy God, God must have something to do with the wicked.

Nah, had too many things happen in my life that I'd just as soon God get the credit for. Don't know how they would've happened otherwise.
