I have blonde hair but I'm going to dye it blue...How do I do it with KoolAid? Is that even the best way? Is it damaging? I'm looking for something that will only last for a few months.

Tinting your hair with koolaid will last less than a week. If you want a blue, have a professional (or even a beauty school student!) use either Punky Colour or Paul Mitchell InkWorks. Both of those can last up to a month, depending on how often you wash your hair, whether you use good shampoos, if your hair was previously bleached, or if you use hot curling or straightening tools.

Because the pigments in ultra-vivid colours are much bigger than in regular tints, they wash out a lot faster. I can almost guarantee that NO colour will last "a few months", but you can have a professional maintain it to keep it looking fresh for as long as you like the look!

NEVER use Kool-aid to dye your hair EVER! You will never be able to get it out of your hair and it will have to be cut out.

Your best bet is to use 'Manic Panic' or a specialized punk colored hair dyed. I would assume you are trying to save money, so go to a beauty supply store (like Sally Beauty), get a bottle of blue dye and ask one of your friends to dye it for you. Be sure to ask a friend who dyes their own hair (and does a good job!!).

If you are not sure you want your hair permanently blue, I would recommend you use the blue hair dye that washes out after a few shampooings. Dyeing is permanent and hard to undo.

Good Luck!

I don't know if this product is still available, but Target used to have some styling hair glue that came in different colors, I remember they had red and blue. I'm sure it probably wouldn't last a month, just until the next time you shampoo your hair. But this may be a good idea, just in case you didn't like it.

Ok. Frist of all I have to say.......don't dye ur hair blue!!! Doy! Blue hair is.........blaaahhh! No no no no no. No blue hair. Second, if u were to dye it blue, why would u do it with kool-aid? That is just lazy and wierd. And no, it is not the best way. Yeah, putting a tounge-dying drink all over ur head and making it dye ur hair its color would be damaging, last time i checked. No blue hair! Ask 10 people total if they think that blue hair is kool compared to blonde and do not count the ones who say i would have to see it or i dunno or whatever u like is kool or anything like that. At the max,2 or 3 people tops will say yeah out of 10. No blue hair. It ruins you.

I would use Manic Panic hair dye- you can buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply. It's easy to apply and will take work really well in your light hair. Also, it's semi-permanent so it should wash out within a few months.

I've used some red kool aids before, but I'm not certain as to how blue would turn out. I know that it kool aid doesn't have much staying power. Anyhow, I would try manic panic. It's temporary and I think they have some nice shades of blue.
