I work for the airline industry so let me answer your question.

Chances are, you wont be able to get upgraded by asking. Or begging, or even being pushy about it (youd be surprised).

The front cabins are mainly for business passengers who are either on expense accounts or have large amounts of FFM (frequent flyer miles) and are willing to cash them in.

Your best chance of being upgraded (assuming you are in coach somewhere) is to but a full fare Y ticket. This is usually the refundable type of ticket that costs way more than the cheapest coach ticket. You would be first in line if there were upgrades available.

One more word of caution:
Paris is undeniably one of the most POPULAR first class transatlantic flights out there. This means thats its usually always full before the day of the flight. Lots of business travelers and couples that are traveling for honeymoons and the like.

The chances of open seats the day of the flight are close to nil.

Hope this helps.

hi, i've got lived in Copenhagen, yet no longer in Holland. So i will in basic terms communicate approximately Copenhagen and Denmark, yet undergo in concepts Copenhagen is a Capitol and Utrecht isn't. Copenhagen is an exceedingly worldwide city. all and sundry speaks english there. and that i in my opinion could have self assurance that danes are greater open in direction of individuals, because of the fact the failings approximately Denmark is they actually like united states of america, they kinda seem as much as individuals. that's greater worldwide than different places in europe, and that's totally needed. it takes below an hour with a airplane to London, you will get to Berlin without it costing git lots by employing a practice, and it takes twenty minutes to pass to Sweden. Denmark is an exceedingly 'green' u . s . a ., its general to take a motorbike and there are a number of forests and wood and parks in needed copenhagen. And on the comparable time it has those alluring old homes that makes the country seem as though this fairytale place. i admire the city, its too underrated.

Again, the only two surefire ways: Buy a First Class ticket or sleep with the help.

Call your airlines and ask for your ticket to be upgraded.

Try begging... that's always attractive.
