I am 25 and have been on Probation for a O.W.I that I recieved when I was 21 and have until May of 2009 before I am free to enlist, only I will be almost 28-29 yrs old and the war will be over..maybe it will. I have talked to several recruiters who said with a lawyer it could be done with some type of waiver. The only hope I have at making amends and something of myself is the Army and not the streets. The draft will most likely not happen which I wish would before we have a bigger issue on our hands{Korea,Iran,Lebenon, etc.} I drank 3 beers and Indiana is a police state..I told the judge that I wanted to join the military to turn my life around and he put me in jail for 6 months for making a "mockery" of his courtroom when I asked that question, poo head. I dont even want the incentives or cash bounuses, just to serve my country and learn dicepline, honor, dedication and get a better education. Most of all to be a leader instead of a follower like I have been since i was 12.

Talk to a Recruiter, they know all kinds or tricks to enlist people. Most will even talk to a prosecutor or a judge for you to help you out. I've been in the Army National Guard for 4 years and I worked for a recruiter the summer between my sophomore and junior year of college. They can get all kinds of people in. However the best time for you to try would have been in September. Their fiscal year ends OCT 1. So to meet their goals for the year they start to waive all kinds of thing that would keep you from joining originally. But talk to a recruiter anyway. If you don't want to go full time Indiana has a lot of sweet Combat units in their Army Guard, I may be transferring to one.
Infantry all the way

Great question and for the right amount of money I'm sure it can be done. I mean the Russians bought the atomic bomb, didn't they? You know back in my time judges use to give you a choice of enlisting in the service or face probation and/or jail time. Now all they want you to do is spend money on some shyster lawyer that kicks back to the judge.

They do get some greater pay for recruiter accountability yet it fairly is with the help of the fact they artwork in any respect circumstances, and in lots of circumstances a minimum of 12 hour days, 7 circumstances each week.

Go see a recruiter, they will more than happy to help you if they can. The Army, like my recruiter told me, is the best thing since peanut butter. It's exactly what you need.
