Before I contract a certified local driller, from the state's list of drillers.. is it worth spending ~$1200 to have a local HydroGeoPhysis tell me where water might be?
I had a dowser locate a spot, but thought I should back up with "science?" I understand the wells in this rural ranch area have been as shallow as 150' and as deep as 1000' with accepatable water flow

Surely, your local health department has information on well depth. If you have to put a well in no matter what, why waste the 1200 on a Hydrogeologist? Just have the driller go until there's potable water.

your better off paying the money then posably having to drill to deep & paying more in the long run.
