Just for your info the 3 oz bottle is only for your carry on. Just pack the whole bottle in your luggage :)

The 3 oz. rules only apply to the liquids that you are taking on in your carry on luggage. If you need a larger bottle of shampoo you can pack that in your checked luggage. The list for exactly what you can and can not bring on the aircraft as well as how it needs to be packed in your carry on is located on the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/

Hope you have a great trip!

OK the 3 oz rule only applies to your carry on.
You can carry a regular size Bottle in your checked luggage.
I do recommend though if you do put the shampoo bottle in a zip lock bag in case the top comes loose.

Check your larger shampoo. Or buy it at your destination. No need for a heart attack. Plus, don't blame the airlines, blame the terrorists. TSA makes the rules.

you can still place it in your checked bags. Thats what I did with my hair gel when I went to Japan nearly a month after the whole Atlantic plot thing!
