scientifically it has been proven the yawn does nothing for the human body. Yeah, I know the popular belief is a sign of being tired or a great big gulp of air, but science says no, no. They have concluded it's some more primitive sign amongst members of a group. So maybe by that logic a yawn is supposed to be contagious to sign everyone to do whatever it's purpose was.

Reading your yawn doesn't have quite the same effect although I am pretty tired, and I did yawn, but I was also yawning before I read your question.

Yah, it does, actually. Just like laughter is addictive, so is yawning, don't know why, but it is. lol. The best thing to do, though, is try it on someone and see if it works for yourself.

i saw this test done on mythbusters they got a bunch of people in a room. they had no knowledge of what the test was they had a person start yawning and watched the reaction they thought it was a job application or something but to wrap things up they concluded it was busted go to discovery channel look it up.
