I'd like to know if any fire men may answer what fire men do during their free time when there are no fires to put off.

Clean, hydrotest, hang, & roll hose.
Clean the station house, cook, & eat.
Purchase supplies.
Clean trucks, routine truck maintenance.
Maintenance on the station house.
Public education events.
Paperwork. Call reports. Inventory lists (supplies on trucks and the EMS vehicles).
Paremedics have to keep a close eye on the drugs in thier kits and make sure they are up to date and not expiring.
Take breaks, watch TV, play cards, even sleep. (Yes, when you are on a 24 hour shift, you get to do those things.)
By the way, if they "put off" putting out the fires... they get fired.

from what i know they train an come up with new and better ways for doing things like fighting fires but im not a firefighter

In New York, they just sit around and whistle at every cute girl passing by, and ocassionally say disgusting things to them. But guess what they are the bravest and still our heroes....hahaha

According to some news in Los Angeles, they shave each other, and feed each other and have fun each other.

they take a nap, play cards, chest games, grocery shopping, relax read a book, talk on their cell phone say hi to there loved ones..what would you do?!
