i was pretty shy when i was younger and so bullies took that as a sign of weakness and of course tortured me for awhile. but as i grew i became more confident and took a few karate courses and ended that. now that i am older there are still those who are now also adults that try to bully others not just physically but mentally as well. their biggest mistake is to underestimate a quiet and shy person, those who aren't aggressive and loud mouth are usually the most dangerous so people need to be very careful about who they push around these days. its ironic though that spoiled rotten little brats who bully grow up to be just spoiled rotten big adults and in reality both are the real cowards. do i get bullied now? not at all and i have no problem defending those who get bullied too. my favorite line to a bully....'come on underestimate me...please.'

I was neither until the 9th grade, when suddenly I was bullied. It lasted half the year until I changed my classes and got away from that group of kids. But it was torture. There was no reason for it, just that someone called me a dog once and everyone thought my reaction was funny, so all of a sudden it was ok to call me a dog, bark when I walked by, leave dog biscuits in my locker. It never happened again after I changed classes. My parents wanted me to stick it out, but I'm glad I didn't.

I lived in a small town and we had to leave town for grades 9-12. It was a culture shock because the kids had been exposed to a lot more than we had. (This was 1973-1974) The year after me, when my sister came into 9th grade, she heard some kids talking about pot and she asked what it was. The teasing started, and a month later she quit school forever.
