I feed mine 2.5 scoops a day (5 cups), but she's a smaller Great Dane, she's just around 100lbs. Try out 5 or 6 cups, then see if your dog leaves food, if so, give less next time. Also, if your dog starts getting a bit fatter, reduce dosage (some dogs don't control their eating, although most do). If the dog starts begging (or begging more) when you eat, stealing food, trying to look for little crumbs on the floor or something to eat, you know she's hungry and give her more next time. You'll find the right balance within a few days. And yes, it's true what others here have said, that the higher the quality of the food is, the less your dog will need to eat.

it depends on the quality of dog food. Good quality food he will eat less. Bad quality food he will need to eat more to get the same nutritional value.
