in one of my classes, i talked to an 85 year old woman who is from my homewtown, boston. i go to school in PA. she was auditing the class and always really nice to me. i got to know her pretty well. i'm graduating this semester and want to take her to the dining hall. we talked about it. would it be socially awkward if the girl i like sees me eating with an old lady or would it seem like a sweet gesture??
i want to take her to the dining hall as a way of saying thank you for being so nice and friendly to me and saying good bye.... but would a girl see this as being a loser or being sweet?

I think this is really sweet. And I think the girl you like will either think she's a relative or will be wowed when you tell her about it.

Good luck... very sweet gesture!

Do it and don't worry about what other people say. They'll probably assume it's your grandmother or something, and grandmothers are a lot cooler than plain old moms.

Personally, I'd think it's sweet, since not many guys have the patience or kindness to make friends with someone that much older than them.

Take her someplace nicer then the dining hall, then you don't have to worry about any social pressure and you can say bye to your friend properly :)

it would be really sweet and i think the girl you like would think even higher of you. tell the girl you like though what you are doing so if she does see you she doesnt get confused. just be like yea so im taking this lady out to lunch as a thank you and stuff....just incase she does see you guys and doesnt get it.

i think if my man did something like that i would be proud of him.. to know that he is willing to give a person something so small to to say thank you for what she has done for him. it would make me more at ease about how much he'll do for me as a thank you to how much i do for him.. i think it's a very, very sweet gesture! good luck and best wishes in all you do..

aaaaaaaaawwww.
A very sweet gesture, and very genuine. You must have a good heart, and I am sure that the girl you like will see that too.

I think it would be sweet. If she sees you as a loser for that, then she ain't worth the time....

if she thinks your a loser for dinning with the person of your own choice do you really think this girl is worth it? maybe you should do what you want and stop being so preoccupied with what people think of you. if she thinks your a loser... you could obviously do better.
