a skip tracer is hired on by a bail bondsman most of the time and they seek out wanted fugitives and felons that skip out on bail or hearings and what not . anyone can become a skip tracer its constitutional its very dangerous work and getting paid is depnding on the job

A skip tracer is some one who attempts to locate someone who has walked away from a debt or obligation. They generally are paid as a percentage of any recovered funds. Don't confuse these guys with bounty hunters.. these guys are looking for you to settle up your old utility bill .

Contact local collection agencies for a start or for a resource.

It is not all that glamerous work but it IS work.

If you want a little more action consider being a Process Server (the guy that hands a defendant the legal papers and then beats feet outa there).
