Audacity is pretty good

see if you can find a program called Fruity Loops. it lets you compose, mix, loop, synthesize, produce. Its the most incredible program I have ever used, but I dont think you will find it for free, it cost me $99.00 for the full version but I have made some unbelievable music using it.
