This passage is talking about the last day. In fact if you include verse 51 with the passage, here is the meaning of those verses. "We will not all sleep" means that Christians alive at that day will not have to die, but will be transformed immediately. A trumpet blast bill usher in a new heaven and earth. The Jews would understand the significance of this because trumpets were always blown to signal the start of great festivals and other extraordinary events. (Numbers 10:10)

Yes the seventh trump when Christ returns.

Rev 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
Rev 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

JC, it somewhat parallels 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. It is a second coming reference that tells us that Jesus will return at the Second Coming when the last trumpet sounds. See Revelation 11:15ff.

It is my belief that Paul wrote that to give the faithful hope in a resurrection at the end of this present world, and that both those who have died in Christ, and those left alive after the great tribulation will be changed into incorruptible bodies.

It must be symbolic. It just means that there is one registry out there where nothing will be forgotten, not even the dead. And this scripture is meant to justify your belief in natural justice.
It is suggesting that everyone should look into themselves, in the first place... and decide..... and try to change for the better TODAY.

It is when the mortal puts on immorality and the spirit/soul is reunited with the body. The beginning of reality forever.
