They should. If people knew the real impact of environmental damage, they would set it as a priority, but it doesn't happen quickly or dramatically as something like a terrorist attack. We need people to have that adrenaline racing when they think about irrepairable environmental effects. I don't know how to do that, but educate, educate, educate.

Definitely. We've already treated the world like a garbage dump, and although policy changes and programs are a good start at trying to reverse the damage we've done, it may not be enough. What we need is a change in people's view of the world and our place on it. I've noticed since "Inconvenient Truth" was released a lot of people are talking about the environment more, and that's a good thing, but remember this movie only brushed on some of the causes. Read up on it, this didn't just start happening in the past 50 years or so, it's been a slow boil, and we're getting to the boiling point, and dropping in ice cubes may not be enough to cool it off. (The ice cube thing was a metaphor lifted from the movie)

Yes. environmental issues should be a very important priority in our lives. The question is how to get people motivated enough to actually have an impact. Monetary incentive, doesn’t work, who will foot the bill? Environment emergencies dont work, because we would have to wait for a catastrophe before anyone budges. Social change? How do we implement social change in a society? Teach it in schools to the little ones, the young ones, and the old ones.

Absolutely....There are all kinds of waste and pollution even in farm country.....Everyone and I mean everyone should recycle, even if they have to take the recycling somewhere instead of it being picked up...So many things can be recycled; cardboard from boxes like oatmeal, cakes, mac&cheese, any kind of box....,aluminum cans from sodas, dog food, soup, etc...,plastics from sodas, dish soap, laundry soap, hair shampoo, etc. Just rince all those containers out before storing them...No one should brush their teeth with the water running...Wet mouth and toothbrush then turn off water till it's time to rinse..You can get low flow shower heads and toilets. Keep your auto tuned, air filter changed, etc so it emits less fumes....if you can afford to get a new car toyota makes a hybrid that is enviromentally friendly, and there are more vehicles coming out each day. I could go on and on but that's not your question...Priority means it is important to you, and our resourses should be important to everyone....If we don't get our act together SOON our grandchildren will not be able to breath, and there will be less land to live on because the oceans will rise from the polar icecaps melting. Our forests will be depleted, and soil will be so depleted that the vegetable grown will be full of chemicals from fertilizer.....Think on this a lot...Get on the internet....Get Al Gore's book, can't remember title...It is full of FACTS....hope my opinion has persuaded you to care about the enviroment and what we do to it everyday......Wishing you green pastures.....

Absolutely. Even though there are people who don't like to admit it, human beings are critters on this earth - meaning we are symbiotically connected with the environment. That was the big grand plan. People aren't above it, they are IN it. Time for the naysayers to get a clue.
