Aim for the sky, you may hit the ceiling.
Aim for the ceiling, you will fall flat on your face.

" In view of all of God’s mercies, because it is acceptable and well pleasing to Him, and because it is our reasonable act of worship, we must give God all we are."
Jesus is perfect, and as we seek to be more like Him, out of our love for Him, we set our sights on perfection. We will never get there in this life, but our compass must point in that direction.

perfection is the natural state of being - the problem is not in seeking it, it is in realizing that it already exists because it conflicts with the ego's quest for control of the infinite

well we all make mistakes in life . but the thing is not to do them again ! thats the key to a perfectionist! as far as why to people seek them well, i think those people lose out on a lot of stuff , i can overlook a few flaws but perfit is far from what i am! im not god! i am a human being not a computer. thats one to grow on and learn . kids my best advice is to learn all u can absorbe your mind in some thing that is fun! b createtive ! you get the idea . perfit indeed.

because life is about the journey. the "getting there" rather than the "there". if perfection is the end- then life striving toward perfection is the journey.
but that's not to say we can't enjoy life even though we haven't reached the finish line. enjoy where you are on the way to where you are going.

I don't seek perfection in myself, but I wouldn't mind finding it in a woman.

Perfection spiritually is full age or maturity in God's Word.
It's a desire to learn truth, wisdom and knowledge.

Because they don't like the way they are right now, and wonder if there was something that would make their life worthy of living.
