The best translation, I think, should be something like this:
En mis vacaciones fui a Nueva York a ver a mi hermano. Fui a nadar con él y sus amigos. También fui con mi hermano a visitar algunos lugares de interés/algunos sitios turísticos.

After "en el mar y" write todos nosotros as in we all. As for the last part I couldn't understand what you were trying to say ( "vista que veÃan con mi hermano" ). Could you explain it in english?

All right until that bit at the end. I presume you're trying to say that you went to see the sights. In that case: "fuimos a visitar unos sitios interesantes en la Gran Manzana."
