I mean... during Jesus times he did the same, and many hated him, so...doesnt it make you think on how much the J.W. are actually following his example and doing the right thing? (Mathew 24:14)

The preaching work was commanded by Christ himself. How could it be wrong?

Too many so-called "Christians" view their religion as a social club rather than as a way of life which should influence every action the adherent takes. Too many so-called "Christians" do not give any real evidence of taking their so-called "faith" seriously and understanding that it obligates them to do Christ's work.

It seems that three activities can help deepen one's faith; regular bible reading, regular prayer, and regular personal ministry. Sadly only two of them are acknowledged by most of Christendom's clergy.

Perhaps these so-called "Christians" are ignorant that the bible most closely associates being "Christian" with PREACHING about Christ and Christ's teachings. Review all three times the bible uses the term "Christian" and note that the context connects the term with:
"declaring the good news"
'teaching quite a crowd'
'open eyes, turn from dark to light'
"uttering sayings of truth"
"persuade"
"keep on glorifying"

(Acts 11:20-26) [The early disciples of Jesus] began talking to the Greek-speaking people, declaring the good news of the Lord Jesus... and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.

(Acts 26:17-28) [Jesus said to Paul] I am sending you, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God... Paul said: “I am not going mad, Your Excellency Festus, but I am uttering sayings of truth and of soundness of mind. ...Do you, King Agrippa, believe the Prophets? I know you believe.” But Agrippa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.”

(1 Peter 4:14-16) If you are being reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy... But if he suffers as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name

Sadly, so-called "Christians" try to hijack the term "Christian" and hide its Scriptural implications. Yet, the preaching work makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

You have been reading your bible and that is great. Jesus commanded his disciples to do likewise. Matt.24:14 says that .."good news would be preached..", it would thus be an identifying mark of true Christians. Jesus also likened our days to Noah's, in spite of the lawlessness people took no note to Noah's message. So we recognize that many would be unresponsive, however many do want to learn about the bible. We endeavor to be peaceable with all people, so if someone is not interested we simply leave. For those that are we offer free bible studies, if you would like to email me I would gladly arrange one at your convenience. Peace.

If the first christians listened to people and stopped going door to door, then Christianity wouldn't have spread very far. And it doesn't say in the Bible to stop spreading the good news, in fact it says that you need to (Matthew 24:14, 2 Peter 3:3-10).

I'm studying the Bible with the Jehovah's Witnesses, and know that they're going door to door because they want to share the good news with people. Even if it means getting ridiculed, they don't mind because it means people like me get to learn the truth and find God. So I'm very glad that they (and you) go door to door. A sincere thankyou.

As long as they don't call too early or too late and respectfully take no for an answer when I tell them I'm not interested, I have no problem with their going door to door. I believe in freedom of religion and expression.

I feel the same way about those guys on street corners ranting through a bullhorn. Sure, they're annoying, but enduring their noise is a small price for me to pay for living in a free country.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I think it is nice that someone is willing to go to that much trouble to help people.
I am a shut in and get few visitors that care or even come back.
Most don't want to see a cripple. This guy studies the bible with me and I have learned a lot. Did a lot of research on my own.
Got several translations of the bible. He encouraged me to do so.
They never charge and have to drive a long way to see the people here. They are really faithful to the people here in checking on them and coming by. Some people may not like it but there is a lot of us that do. In answer to the Tof it
That was the first thing I learned that Jesus Christ is our savior and died for our sins. I was told they didn't believe in Jesus but that isn't true.

If doing what God asked us to do is wrong then what we are doing is wrong. Jesus lead by example so all we are doing is following through with what Jehovah asked us to do through this example. If anything there are lots of people who do not agree with our actions just like they didn't agree with the actions of Jesus and his followers in the past. Adding to that I don't want to say that these acts are completely selfless because they are not. I for one do this because I like to help those who want to learn about God and what our purpose is on this earth. you would be amazed at how there are many who want to learn or have questions but do not know who to turn to for help. I honestly enjoy helping others find an answer to their questions. Along with that knowing that my actions make Jehovah God happy makes me extremely happy. kinda like the way a kid feels after doing something that puts a smile on his fathers face and in turn the child happily does this because he wants to make his father happy. What pleases God pleases me.

No, they are not doing wrong. As you mentioned, they are following Jesus' example. Also, Jehovah's Witnesses DO believe that Jesus is the Messiah. How sad is it that people don't look to the Bible to see if Jehovah's Witnesses' teachings are correct. They'd rather listen to their religious leader or a silly website.

It’s perfectly acceptable, seeing how the Christians came to my school and handed out their bibles.
Separation of church and state apparently does not mean anything to the believers.
So if you want to complain about the Jehovah witnesses for spreading their faith, you’re a hypocrite because your faith itself has the most influence and spreads its "gospel truth" more than any other religion.
So before you say things about stopping them you should stop yourselves, because you don’t know which religion is right no one does.
They are just trying to spread what they think is right just like Christians or any other faith. =)

As long as proper boundaries and respect are being observed by them while doing their preaching services I think such practice is not wrong...

i don't find anything wrond with preaching your religion door to door, so long as you don't annoy people. i find it great that they are preaching even if i don't believ in that religion, i can admire their courage to preach.
i mean no offense with this comment but i think that the difference is that many people wanted to listen to Jesus...probably because thaey didn't liek their own religion. not everyone want to change their religion and people preaching door do door may get annoying. but i guess it is only a matter of saying i am hapy with my reliogion when they come to your door,!!!!!
:-)
