Ask some of your H hookups if they have any connects for Suboxone or Subutex. That would be the easiest way. Then you can wean yourself slowly down off of those. They aren't very expensive either, and you'll feel a LOT better than just going cold turkey.

I'm sure you've heard of methadone, but don't go that route. It's much harder to get off of. Definitely ask around for some Subutex or some Suboxone. You'll most likely find 8mg tablets that might cost like $10 a piece, but you only need half of it and you'll be good for the day. You'll feel normal or maybe even a little better than normal with no signs of withdrawal.

If you can't get your hands on any Subs, try scoring some benzos, meaning something like Valium or Xanax. These will take the edge off the horrible anxiety of physical withdrawal. For the pain, just take some ibuprofen like Advil.

If you can't get any of this stuff, then you just gotta find a way to distract yourself from the withdrawal. The first 3 or 4 days will be hell, but once you're past that, it's pretty much down hill. The depression may seem to last forever, but it'll go away eventually, too. Find a new hobby. Find something that makes you feel good. Anything to get your mind off the H.

You'll see that 6 months to a year down the road, you'll be feeling like you did before you ever began. It'll be a struggle, for sure. Just take it one step at a time.

Pray, pray, pray, and pray some more. I quit using crack cocaine without clinical help. It can be done. Almost everyone in my life told me I would fail. I succeeded. There is definite scientific evidence supporting the fact that most people who successfully quit do wo without 'clinical' help. You do need to want to quit more than anything in the world. If you don't yet have that grace, pray for it and it will be given to you. I absolutely believe this.

That doesn't mean you don't need help, however. In my case I had the total dedication and support of my spouse and also a prayer group who never gave up on me. I educated myself and learned about my own brain. Eventually, I discovered nutritional interventions that helped a great deal. On thing that really helped me a lot was taking something called Holy Basil, which somehow would interrupt my negative thinking and help the cravings to go away. You can get it at virtually any health food store.

Eating right is very important. Start cuting down on sugar, which you are likely craving right now. Start eating hemp hearts with your breakfast in the morning; they'll give you lots of essential fatty acids that you've been missing and they'll gradually take away the cravings for both sugar and the drug.

Stay away from the places you used to go, no matter what the reason you might think you have to go there. For me, event though the drug screwed up my eyes so bad I could hardly see for a lon time, writing helped a lot. Just getting out my feelings. And crying. Surround yourself with supportive people who don't mind if you cry.

The Jude Thaddeus Home Recovery Program is also available for a very low cost. I'll include a link under 'source' below for you. It helped me a lot during those first months.

You just need to be strong. My sister was a heroin user and she
lost all parental rights to all 8 children and she done a least 2 years in prison for trafficking. She had been through a lot in her
younger years, but now she has changed her life around for the
better. And If it take you to go to rehab, then go for it cause that is
the only way you will be able to go cold turkey. with their help of course. Being with your friends will only want you to do more of
the ****. Be the man that your supposed to be not the man that
your making yourself into. You can stand stall and make a better person of your self, get a good career and get the things you been yearning for. Be the better person look in the mirror can't
you see how you look and how you can change yourself from
a heroin user to a business man. The Stud Man, okay just don't get a big head, if you know what I mean!!

If youre truly addicted, quitting on your own will be difficult. Have you been using heroin for over a year? How many times have you tried to quit since the onset of regular use? Do you have withdrawl? If you have unsuccessfully tried to quit in the past and do not want to go inpatient, you may be eligible for Methadone Treatment. You don't necessarily have to receive Maintenance, you could do a Meth to Abstinence Program where you first stabilize and then wean from Methadone all of this can be done out patient. If you don't do treatment, remember People, places and things. You need to change your daily living patterns. Go to an NA meeting, do 90 meetings in 90 days, and get a sponsor.

its about mind over matter and self dominance. take a deep look at yourself and say you know what I'm at the bottom now and if I quit doing this s hit there is only room to move forward. you need to believe you can do it. its about strength be strong. you may have to suffer for a while to kick the withdrawl which is the hardest but once your sober (which I have been for a year after severe abuse with a lot of ****) I've never felt so confident and so good. im sure you feel like the world is against you now I feel sometimes like I'm leading the world or atleast my world. know that you are the man and can get through this, you need to kick this **** bro. goooooood luck!!! the ball is in your court.
