Write. Scream. Take a hot bath. Treat men/women like dirt for a few weeks. Find someone BETTER.

Keep yourself busy and productive. Meet with groups that do things you're interested in, whether it's bowling or writing or gardening. Get interested in something if you're not interested in anything, because that's a sign of a bigger problem. Do volunteer work - look for agencies that are related to something you care about, there are tons of non-profit agencies out there. Clean the rooms that need cleaning thoroughly, take care of your yard and car and anything you normally have less time to take care of when you're paying attention to someone else. Take a course, learn to play guitar, whatever makes you grow and think and keeps your mind on more useful things.

Here is the deal.....you will find somebody in the future. Do not try to hook something right away. Hang with your posse and grab some drinks. Go out and have fun with all the people that you have not hung with lately. Also, as a rule, I never go back out with the same person again. It is easy to do..dont do it. You broke up for a reason, keep it that way. Hang in there.

You just have to tell yourself that everything happens for a reason. I know that you don't feel like that right now, but you'll realize later that it happened for a reason. You may find someone who completely knocks you off your feet next month or something and if you had been in a relationship, then you wouldn't have had that chance. Whenever something bad happens to me, I just try to tell myself that it happened for a reason, even though it is almost always hard to live by that at the time.

Breakups take time. All you can do is try to take it day by day. There really is not an easy way to get through it.
