Im 21 years old college student, never had Chicken Pox before. Couple days ago, I had pimples in my neck, the morning after it covered all over my chest. I went to the doctor this morning, he said I have a chickenpox. He gave me perscriptions for that but the problem is, It is getting very itchy now, How should I handle that. Another thing is, I have sore throat, it hurts when I swell. I dont feel like eating anything which makes my body feels really weak. What should I eat?

-A bath of oatmeal is a natural remedy for relieving the itch due to chicken pox (add oatmeal lotion to the bath water).
-Take plenty of raw fruits and vegetable juice, especially lemon juice.

I had chicken pox when I was 27. I used pure aloe vera gel for the itching. It worked great! As for eating, try some soup or something that is really cold like ice pops or ice cream. Gargling with salt water also helps with a sore throat.

Itching - you might try a paste of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) or other products that are designed to relieve itching - e.g., camomile/calamine lotion.
Eating - go for clear liquids (chicken broth, ginger ale, etc.) and cold things (freezer pops, sherbet, slushies, etc.). Stuff that will not irritate your thoat on the way down.
If the irritation to your throat persists, you should probably go back to the doctor. The prescription will probably just take a day or so to kick in and take better effect.
Also, you should discuss with your doctor the possibility of you getting Shingles after this episode, as it is possible although unlikely.

For the itching, I took Aveno Oatmeal Bath.
Soooo good!
It's in the lotion section of most stores, their in little packets.
For the eating? I didn't eat much, so I don't know what to say.
Oh, drink plenty of orange juice, it helps you get better faster...no matter what the thing...like cold, flu...chicken pox.
It has Vitamin C...some how it helps!

No sugar or sweet ice creams at all. It will be more itchy. There is a green solution which i used for my children. It helped very much. email me at skhach2000@yahoo.ca if you live in Canada, as I don't know if you can find it in USA.
Also, no rough meals or fruits or ceggies with fibers, as you have the same pimples in your guts, and in your throat.
Drink real and natural apple or abricot or peach juice without sweetening them.

eat something like jello, puddings, or ice cream. Drink Ensure if you can't eat solid food to give you nutrition. Put calamine lotion of the itchy spots.
