I have been dying for a cellphone, but I don't want to just come straight out and say like, " I want a cellphone for Christmas, mom." That would just be awkward, how do I tell my mom and/or dad that I want a cellphone without coming straight out???!!!! Please help, I am dying here!

Just come out and ask them if you can get one i did and i got one but i have to pay for it and if you dont have the money to pay for the bill then do extra chores around the house for money and i bet that they will respect you and get you one if you pay the bill.

One day when you are all together, just say Mom and Dad, I do not know how you fell about it, but I have been thinking, what I want you to get me for Christmas, and what will make me happy is a cellphone, It would be interesting to hear what they have to say about that. now if they don't approve of it, then work on Grand parents. Now if your parents are against it, then you have to go along with their decisions. I hope you have a great holiday!

Of course, the whole thing boils down to how old you are, and how responsible you are.
Tell your parents that you would feel safer if you were able to call them if there is a problem. Say that you promise to use it mostly for emergencies, and will pay for your calls personally. Then, suggest that you get a pay-as-you-go phone. You can get a phone from Virgin Wireless for $20, or.....this time of year you might get it on sale, even cheaper. Virgin Wireless charges $20 for a Top-Up card that is good for 90 days. The calls are 18¢/minute. Depending on where you live, there may be other wireless services that are the same, or better.

Straight forward and honest is the best way to ask. Let them know you intend to be responsible with it and it will enable you to inform them of where you are and will make it easier for them to contact you. I was against getting my kids cell phones, but they have been wonderful and even my 9 yr old has been very conservative with his added on phone and its use, he has not gone over my plans allotted minutes. If you think you might use it a lot then I highly recommend Metro PCS. My oldest son uses that company and has been extremely pleased with their service and because of their unlimited minutes it has worked out well for all of us.
The main thing about asking is being responsible with it. Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

First of all, you are not dying, nor going to die if you don't get one... if you want it that bad, its simple as 1, 2, 3,... "mom, dad, I want a cell phone for Christmas" consider it done, if they approve of you getting one.

Or when a commercial comes out of cell phones, just say something like "oh that's the one I want" and if they are not clueless parents, they will know that's what you want!

First of tell her all the positive things on getting one. It could be important in emergencies, your parents could contact you when needed, and that you would be connected where ever you go. End your piece by saying, this is how useful a cellphone is wouldn't it help if I had one?

I hope this helps! :-D

Just ask them. Is it OK if I got a cell phone for Christmas. Or start hinting around. Leave picture around the house like your looking at them. When they come on TV say OH that's nice one. Maybe they'll get the hint...Good Luck.

tell them straight out you would like to get a cell phone for christmas
If you talk on the phone alot. they might not want to buy you a monthly plan where you have limited minutes and going over will result in extra charges Tell them you will settle for a pre-paid phone and earn your minites. Then once they trust you to be responsible you can upgrade.
