Cats spend a great deal of their time sleeping. The average cat sleeps for 13-18 hours a day.

Nah, he's just being a normal kitty.
Cats actually need about 18 hours of sleep a day (O_O) really :) so it really might look like he just sleeps all the time.

The only time you should start to worry is if he stops using the litter box, and just pees around the house, or where he is sleeping. That may mean he's diabetic or has a urinary tract infection.
But no, it's totally normal for a cat to spend his day eating and sleeping.

Nope, cats just happen to sleep 16-20 hours per day. Older cats sleep more than younger ones.

My cats sleep when they can't find anything better to do, just make sure you play with them enough so they don't get too bored.
