Even if she can only send a small amount a month, by this time she should have sent you something. Her attitude of "When I get it, you will get it" is not good at all. When she needed you, you came through for her. If I were you, I'd call her if possible; if not, e-mail her and remind her again. $2,000.00 is not a small amount of money. The fact that you sent her a certified letter and she has ignored it tells me that she's got a bad attitude about paying her debts. Did you at least get a return receipt that she got the letter?
From now on, remember this. Friendship is friendship. Once you loan a friend money, it becomes BUSINESS. You need to make up paperwork that she signs that she will pay you by a certain time.
Shame on her.
