First of all, Don't sweat it! She may not be ready. What I did was buy her "special" panties. Does she have a favorite character? Dora? Barbie? Everytime you put them on her, remind her not to get them wet. They won't be happy with her if she does. It worked for my daughter. Sometimes asking more often if she has to go helps too. Little ones play so hard they forget to stop and visit the potty.I also tried the reward program. Put a sheet of paper on the door at her level and everytime she goes potty reward her with a pretty sticker to put on the paper. Makes a nice collage. Good Luck.

Like Patty's child, my daughter was often so engrossed in her play that she didn't want to be bothered with going to the toilet. If you are able, try and keep a potty pretty close by, rather than making your child climb a flight of stairs, for example, to reach a toilet.
I also didn't think it was appropriate to insist on having autonomy over my child's body to the extent that I would demand that she urinate! but I did think it was okay to insist that she just SIT on her potty for a minute every half hour or so, and especially when we had to leave the house. I found that if I just asked, my child would say she didn't have to go; that might have been true right then, but ten minutes later it often wasn't!! I told her, "You don't have to pee, but you do have to sit", and often (of course) she did urinate. Don't force her to stay for long periods while you hover over her--if nothing happens within a minute or so, then her bladder probably isn't full.
She may feel more positively about the potty with the rewards suggested--and you might keep some little books or magazines nearby so going to the potty isn't so much of a boring exile.
Soon it will become habit for her, you'll see!

I have a six-year old mentally retarded sister (Im not joking) who's not potty trained yet. Here are some ideas I've heard from others-
Bribe them- tell her if she uses the toilet, she'll get a prize. However, you must always be ready to hold up your end of the bargain or they will stop trusting you.
Create a book with pictures of your daughter and of her on the toilet, as well as pictures of things in the bathroom. Tell the story everyday of how she uses the toilet, including all the steps involved. End it with how proud of her you are when she uses the toilet.
Get an hour egg timer.
Set it for every half hour.
When it goes off, have her sit on the toilet for five minutes.
When the five minutes are up, reset the timer for another half hour and repeat.
hope it's useful- seems to work with my sister.

It took my son a long time to potty train too. We just did away with diapers completely. When he had an accident I wouldn't change him right away so he would feel uncomfortable for a little bit. He didn't like being wet so he finally started using the potty.

If she likes to wear her panties, then explain to her that she can only wear them if she goes to the potty. If she wets her pants then take her panties away until she can go on the potty. If she goes on the potty, she gets her panties back but if she wets them again then they're gone!
Praise her for using the potty, but don't punish her for not using it (other than taking away her panties which isn't really a punishment).

well, I am not a mother but I had to babysit a kid who was just like that, what I did was i kept asking her constantly if she had to go, and if so, she would, but sometime, its wouldnt work, so I realized why not just take her to the bathroom, then give her a treat for being good. later on she was able to do it on her own and now, she is potty trained.
