I really want big fat curls, what kind of curlers work the best for this?? I'd really like names/brands. Also, keep in mind that my hair hardly holds a curl for crap! :(

The best way to put curl into hair that doesn't take curl very well (like mine) is to blow dry it in first and then to smooth and recurl with a curling iron. I like to put a holding gel like (Biolage styling gel or Aussie Mega texture and volume gel) in my hair while it's damp and blow dry. I then roll my hair in small sections around velcro rollers (I buy the Goody brand at wal-mart) spray with hairspray and set with the hot setting of the blow dryer. I then let it sit while it cools (and I put on my makeup). Then, I unroll and curl the special sections that I want curled more with a CHI 1" curling iron.

And as always...spritz with hairspray at the end.

My hair doesn't curl very easily, I've tried different types of rollers but none of them seem to work. I just recently bought a 3/4" curling iron and it works great, I would suggest purchasing a curling iron. Depending on how long your hair is I would go larger for bigger curls maybe 2".

I also had to buy a pre curl prep spray from (Got 2 Be hair product line) that I spray on my hair before curling it then finish with a strong holding hairspray

I use Conair hot rollers. The big ones work great. I heat them up for about 10 minutes, and then roll my hair. I have really thick hair and it is relatively long. I spray my hair with hairspray first, then roll, spray again with the rollers in, take them out and spray again. Check out my pic (sorry, it's pretty goofy looking), it is still relatively curly, and that was about 5 hours or so after I rolled them.

Good luck!!!

set hair with large magnetic rollers when damp and use a strong setting lotion that should create long lasting curls, when you remove rollers when dry use your fingers to seperate out your curls and place into shape, you can then spray with strong hair spray to keep curls in place
