Generally, yes, they are pretty friendly and very hearty for a smaller dog. They are not terriers, bred down from bulldogs (and other dogs), so they were originally bred for fighting. But they haven't done that in years and years so they are really just companion animals. This means they are happy inside many different environments (apartments are ok) and have a moderate amount of energy (don't need a "job" like some terriers or herding dogs). With any dog, though, you should make sure you get it from a good breeder or a reputable source (a rescue or shelter that will evaluate temperament) because any dog can have a bad personality if it has been bred wrong or has had bad life experiences. Boston terriers are great dogs especilly with kids. They are very hyper and need to be exercised. Also those dogs can run and run and never get tired and really exhaust themselves so you have to stop the dog from running too much.

Any type of terrier is a good dog, but you better like barking and them being annoying cause they'll bark alot unless you can stop them at a young age.

Generally speaking, they are pretty good dogs. Of course, this all depends on the one you pick out cause all dogs have different personalities. My friends have one, very nice dog, well behaved, but he eats everything....especially chapstick.

/Any/ dog can be a bad dog despite its breed. Whether or not a dog is mean or not depends on the way it was raised and its owner.

Yes they are. They are not outside dogs though. They are loyal, and playful but protective so they may nip if they feel you are threatened.

wonderful dogs, very smart,and protective,powerful jaws, so ugly they are cute, lol i have two, and they are fun,love to play tug of war, and fetch, very active
