my laptop is a Packard Bell EasyNote which I have had for nearly 2 years, recently my McAfee Antivirus ran out and I purchased a new disk from PC World which I installed, however there was a problem with it as it kept asking me every day and sometimes several times per day to re-register it when I was on-line of which I did, everytime and after 8 days of this, it finally asked me to uninstall and then re-install my McAfee anti Virus, since then It has been OK and has not kept asking me to repeat registration, however now my problem is that the internet is really slow and nearly as slow as dial up, it can take up to 3 minutes to load a page, yet when I check my connection speed it usually tells me that I am connected and that the signal strength is either "excellent or very good." I have also just purchased and installed 2 new memory chips thinking that this would help speed things up as I had a message telling me that I needed more memory, but this has not helped at all...please advise

Isn't McAfee one of the memory hogs? I use a free AV called Avast!, it updates almost daily, and does not seem to slow my machine down. Try disabling McAfee to see if it is what is slowing things down. Also, use Ad-Aware or other ad killer to make sure there are none of those slowing you down.

An internet connection can become slow or stop working due to a number of reasons depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gz

Check you firewall setting

More than that do not use your internet in the night because it is harm to your connection.
