in other words ... can the God/dess you worship change, act or manifest differently than is described in your belief system? is your deity bound, confined and contained within the context of your beliefs and expectations?

God is limitless, it is our puny mind that can not expand.

The Divine can manifest in whatever form it chooses. While we as pagans do tend to hold a thought form for the God and the Goddess, they are by no means confined to those.

The Divine is too big to put in a box it does not wish to fit.

My God is confined within His own context. We do not know everything He can do. We (the human race) discover more and more everyday that we did not know the day before. I believe he reveals these things to these people or at the very least guide them to the discovery for the betterment of mankind.

Yes, I believe God manifests exactly where we least expect (in a manger.. with the prostitues, tax collectors and outcasts). Unfortunatly, many have forgotten this, and instead have confined God to one image, and one acceptable group.

My deity can do whatever it pleases, but has a general way of acting. I don't expect him to do anything I want, in particular, because he is God, not me, and knows above all what is going on.

our belief in God does not confine God, no. but our belief in God is based loosely on an attempt to understand the ways that God has behaved in the past, and will behave in the future, but that understanding is very very very incomplete.

God is boundless and unlimted, all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving. We are limitted by human understand and basic space/time while God is not. So I would say yes, God can act in ways outside of those defined by the Christian Church.

I can not put the living God in a box.

He can do whatever He wants. That's what makes Him God. :o)
