seriously i mean theres people in this section that treat other people horribly because they are athiests or Islam or Jews... why do you care what they beleive? if you think its wrong then keep your damn mouth shut and keep beleiving they are wrong. its not hurting you if you think they are wrong.

Well, in the believing is the problem.
The monotheistic faiths compelled the faithful to "spread the word". The reason is if the " heathens " aren't " saved ", then they are going to hell. I'm sure there are a select few people you would willingly allow to be burnt alive for eternity.
The other thing is that to most of them, it's not just a belief. It's a law. Much like the laws handed down from a government. In effect, they are doing the will of their Heavenly Father.
Example: Let's say you had it on good authority that there was a land mine in the road. You would most likely tell people about it. If they step on it, they die. Same logic here. You can't see the mine because it's underground, but you believe it's there.

Because we are commanded by Christ to go into all the world to preach the Gospel. We know that this isn't a game, it's serious, and we want to get as many people inside the New Jerusalem as possible. There will come a time when we will be looking at those on the other side of the wall who chose to reject God, and it will be most of the people who have ever lived. We would like to reduce that number if at all possible.

But, William, you are so wrong to think that it isnt hurting you....
Do you know why Blair and Bush do nothing about the environment? Why global warming is a myth to them? Because of what they BELEIVE - that the End is near, and that it is going to be glorious - so who cares about the environment?? Does that NOT affect you?? Muslims would have your head if you refused to convert - does that not affect you? And, all of this philosophy is based upon shoddy logic found within the confines of an ancient text that is meaningless today....
But it doesnt affect me?

One of the commands that Jesus left with His followers was to go into all the world and preach the gospel. You know I do understand how you feel about having someone in your face. But myself I try to just be friends with all people and if the opportunity arises to talk about Jesus then I do. Actually, most people don't mind at that point because it usually happens when they are at a low in life and it encourages them. We tell people because we care, we want you to have the benefits of trusting God.

As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, you will have to put up with us being in your face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let you know that you will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that you seem to forget would include the rest of us.

This is an open forum. I expect people to disagree with me from time to time, just as I expect to disagree with others sometimes. But I understand your point. A lively discussion is one thing, but swapping abuse is something different entirely.
Personally, I don't care what another person chooses to believe so long as he doesn't try to legislate his faith and force it on others.
