depends on who you are purchasing it from. you should def. ask one of the customer reps at the store and they will tell you.

When it comes to purchasing a wedding dress it is either cash or credit, most places will NOT do payments (unless you are at a super small home town bridal shop). Also, if there are any alerations that need to be made they need to have the dress purchased first. Sometimes they will have a more inexpensive version of the dress (you might like--probably not being that you love this one). Some shops will actually make a deal that if you purchase your dress and brides maid dresses from them they will take 10-20% off of your total. Best bet is to ask. Good luck.

never pay full price. my gown was regularly priced at $1700. and the sales lady said it was going on sale for 50% off, [$850.00], in the next week.
we said okay we'd come back when it was on sale but in the meantime look around other shops for gowns.
she didn't want to let us get away so we bought a $1700.00 wedding gown, current style, brand new, for $550.00! [almost 70% discount] - including alterations.
keep your eyes open, watch for sales, and know your prices. don't shop during the 'bridal season'. the same as any other shop they will have slower times when they are willing to do more to get a sale!
even though my wedding wasn't til november i went shopping in the week between christmas and new years' and it sure paid off in savings!
you can in some shops do the 'lay-away' plan, others will expect a deposit, just make sure anything you agree on during your discussions with the sales staff is in writing - ie: alterations, pick up time, free gloves, anything - get it in writing right on your bill of sale before you put any money down!
good luck!
have fun!
and p.s. when you go trying on gowns, wear plain white undies - i wore undies with brilliant blue polka dots and all i could see everytime i tried on a gown was bright blue polka dots showing thru the fabric! what a hoot!
by the way.............if you buy your bridesmaids gowns at the same shop they should be giving you a very good price on those as well! the more you buy the better the savings should be!

You can pay for the dress however you'd like, whether it is a check, cash or on a credit card...it does have to be paid for, in full, before you get it though. Larger bridal salons might have a plan where you pay for it in sections, but it won't be more than 2 or 3 payments...

It depends on the store. I'm sure they'll work with you. Once you've seen the dress of your dreams, any other wedding dress will pale by comparison.
See what you can do to make this wedding dress yours. On the other hand, it doesn't make any sense to be in debt over a dress that you'll never wear again when you start a marriage.

My dress is a $1000 and they are letting me make payments. They won't order my dress until it is completely paid for, but they didn't expect me to have the money upfront. Just ask the person who is selling you what kind of policy they have. Obviously if it is hundreds or thousands of dollars they wont expect you to pull the cash out your pocket.

you have a few options: shop around and ck for a similar one that is less expensive. the store may have credit options, i know some stores will offer the option of applying for a credit card. and if you're going all out and ca not find a cheaper one that's similar buy the dress you love.

It really just depends. My dress...they expected me to have the money unfront...which sucks...another dress I was looking at wanted half when they placed the order and the other half when I picked up the dress...and yet another store offered a payment plan. You need to ask the shop that your dream dress resides...Good luck

Of course, if you are buying an expensive dress you would have to have the money to pay right away. Otherwise, scale down and buy something you can afford yourself.

Most bridal stores require half down as a deposit, and payment in full upon pickup.
I would recommend only doing half down, because if the store already has your money, they are in no rush to get the dress in - which means it could arrive a little closer to you wedding date than you are comfortable with.

I would expecth they would want full payment up front. They might also do the alterations for free, so do ask. I got my wedding dress on ebay, paid $100.00 for the dress and $350.00 in alterations!!! People said it was the most beautiful dress they had ever seen, and thought it cost thousands!!!!!!!!!!
