I am a father in new york who recently got back together with my sons mother. My sons has his mothers last name and we would like to change it to mine. He is almost 2 years old. How would i go about changing his last name.

Have you been legally declared the father of the child? I assume since he doesn't have your last name, you are not listed on the birth certificate. You can change it either by filing a paternity action to be legally declared his father--if this hasn't been done yet. If you are legally the father, you can file a simple name change.

Too bad you were not responsible enough to give your son your last name when he was born, wether you were together with his mom or not.

God damn right he should have your name. WHAT KIND OF UNIT ARE YOU RUNNING THERE. Get your wife and son with your name and get your house in order

yea change his name its easy just ask about that in ur state
