an LCD tv is a Liquid Crystal Display television. DLP is Digital Light Processing. The difference is in the way the picture gets to the screen. All flat-screen computer monitors are LCD, so the technology has been around for a while, it's just fairly new in TVs. The DLP tv uses a single chip, about 1inch by 1inch, with millions of mirrors on it. A laser hits the chip and the mirrors reflect the picture to your TV screen. It's really an incredible technology. Anyways, the quality is similiar between the two. DLP is going to be a bigger tv (bigscreens) and LCD is usually in the 32" to 48" range. An LCD will look sharper most of the time, but a DLP is very fast in getting the image to the screen. For rapid-action sports and video games, it's hard to beat DLP.

I think you would be completely satisfied with either technology. LCD costs more, and it's probably worth it. If you don't want to spend that much, you won't go wrong with DLP.

And in my opinion, the best looking LCD and DLP tvs are the Samsungs. I have a Samsung DLP and it's great.

Hope this helps.

yeah, what he said.

But if you want to know more about how these technologies work just go to www.howstuffworks.com and search for DLP and LCD.

I learned a lot of stuff from that site and I recommend it for everything.
