Hi.

I'm a witch in training, one could say, but lately, I've been feeling myself a bit drawn to various Ceremonial magics [I don't K the word]. Lately, I've been finding Goetia to be of particular interest.

So far from what I've found, it involves the conjuring of various demons [It's based on Christian idealology, but I would call them "Malign spirits"], and bargaining for effects. This bothers me marginally, because the Goetic spirits are not known for honesty, or benevolence.

My question is, should I bother? I get good enough results just asking for help, but I do like complexity, and think maybe this could be something worth trying.

Thanks.

Thank you Swordarkeereon, and Enslavementality.

I should probably point out, I in no way ment I'd like to go buy a, "Conjuring things that can ruin your life if you walk out of circle," book, and think I can try. I'm one of those over studious people, and prefer to study things to near-death before I do it.

The Goetic spirits are as you perceive them. If you see them as the evil beasties they're portrayed as, then yes, they're not very honest. Of course with ceremonial magic you're not treating them very well, either. So you can't really expect honesty or to be treated well back. Look into Daemonolatry instead. We invoke instead of evoke. We don't see them as malevolent entities, but rather wise teachers who will impart their wisdom if asked nicely. This way - you can get respect by treating them with respect, and you can still get the same complexity.

Other magicians see the Goetic Demons as part of the psyche. In that instance, you are merely conjuring a part of yourself you wish to control. Depends on the viewpoint I guess.

Swordarkeereon makes a good point, but I have performed several successful Goetic operations including the Evocation of Vassago, Astaroth and Belial. My advice is this, if as you have said, you are a "witch-in-training" you should hold off on the Goetia for awhile until you are extremely proficient at performing the LBRP or lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram and the "Middle Pillar Exercise", if you don't know what those are I suggest you pick up a book by Aleister Crowley or Israel Regardie. I wish you the best of luck, from one witch and mage, to another.

Once the mischievous Spirits have a hold on you, it takes years to get away from them if ever. You are asking for lots of trouble in witchcraft and will probably find it. If you need or desire something in life, you are to ask Spirit nicely not demand it with witchcraft. Get out now before it is too late for you. Good luck.

It never hurts to study as many religions and religious practices as possible. Though I would not advise participating in all of them. it does indeed sound very dangerous to me but in the end, the choice is yours.

Why would you put yourself in contact with powerful unknown beings known for dishonesty and treachery. This is not wisdom.

No, instead you need to renounce the devil, ask God the Father to forgive you of your sins and ask Jesus (who has defeated and will send him to the lake of fire) in you heart be for its too late. One day this message will be brought to your attention if you dont. But then it will be NO RETURN
