My account was frozen by a collection agency. They have a judgement against me. I never got notice this was going to court. They sent it to my former address. It wasn't until my account was frozen that I got this info. They are threatning to garnish my wages. Is there something I can do to fix it? or stop them

First, your account was not frozen by the collection agency. The court froze your account after the judgment was issued. The court will not issue a default judgment without evidence of a 'good faith effort' to serve you with a summons. If you can prove you were never served, you can petition the court to set aside the judgment and set a hearing date. If you actually owe the money, you will still lose the case, but you may be able to negotiate a payment plan.

I think you left out the part where they served you with Small Claims paperwork...so you must have known it was going to court.

The cannot take you to Small Claims court with out showing proof that you were served by a process service first.

Check and see if they will allow you to start making "small" payments. And if this would "unfreeze " the hold.Best of luck to you!
